His recent published book Radar Men: A.P. Rowe and J.A. W. Strath in War and Peace, is an entwined biography of two men who were prime movers in crucial radar developments in Britain during World War II and who subsequently had highly influential careers in Australia. The book follows Rowe and Strath’s lives as they play out against a background of Britain’s near-panic years leading up to World War II, and then its rush to nuclear weapons development and testing in Australia post-war. Both men moved to Australia, Rowe to be Vice Chancellor of the University of Adelaide, Strath to lead Australia’s defence over-the-horizon radar development (Jindalee) in which Don played a major role.

The book is available through any major on-line bookseller or, while stocks last, from the author at an author’s price of $20.00 plus pp (softback) by contacting don.sinnott@ieee.org. The book carries a warm endorsement from Kim Beazley, Australia’s Minister for Defence (1984-1990), Deputy Prime Minister (1995-1996), Ambassador to the United States of America (2010-2016) and Governor of Western Australia (2018- ).
