“This book may not only raise the general awareness of what happened during WW II, so close to Australian shores  namely in the former Netherlands East Indies ( now Indonesia) , but also what the Australian people have been spared by the courageous defense of their country in the years 1942-1945.

An estimated 16,600 Dutch citizens had perished ,thousands were disabled for life while hundreds of children had been orphaned.”
