Burnside Writers’ Group meets on the first and third Thursday of each month, from February to November each year. We meet from 10am until 12.00pm at the Glenunga Hub Community Centre.
The cost to participate is $2 per meeting attended, paid annually
Would you like to become part of the Burnside Writers’ Group?
What happens at our meetings?
Our meetings consist of two parts.
In the first hour, we develop our craft. Sometimes, we invite guest speakers. In the past, this has included published authors, editors, publishers and managers of writers’ advocacy groups. Other times, members of our group share their skills and experience or research topics of interest to share with the group. These sessions may be completed by an activity that is based on the information presented.
After a break, the second part of the meeting is devoted to the members sharing their writing for review by the group. This is undertaken in a friendly and safe manner.
If you want to join …
Our numbers are capped at 15 to ensure full participation by all members of the group in the time we have together. If our cap has been reached, you will be placed on a waiting list and contacted when a vacancy occurs.
Join a meeting…
If a vacancy becomes available, you will be invited to visit one of our meetings as an observer. This will allow you to see if we offer what you are looking for in a writing experience.
